could be a bone in his hand
was a newspaper
rolled up
when i looked out the window
there he was in the rain
that left him soaked
could be a friendly smile
was a hard look
penetrating
could be all that is not
could be another life
but that
is anyway
simple
as all the lives that just want to live
that one moment of life say it's enough
to learn
to follow this course
this pattern
this society
all paths are equal
just linger
some more than others
longer
